In August 2019, one of the RCG Health Insurance Trust’s members was honored by the Albany Business Review, celebrating Questar III BOCES as one of the region’s first-ever Healthiest Employers. This award recognizes organizations that make employee wellness a priority. The Questar III Wellness Committee works closely with the Trust, to provide their staff with wellness programs throughout the year. These include healthy fitness activities, lunch and learn seminars, and other programs. A Hawaiian Island Hop Walking Challenge, held during the summer, had 66 participants walk more than 9 million steps during the six-week program.
BlueShield of Northeastern New York (BSNENY) provides the RCG Health Insurance Trust’s member organizations with a Wellness Program that includes a number of member-centric, evidence-based healthy challenges, wellness seminars and web-based tools. The BSNENY Health Management Consultant is available to work closely with each school’s wellness committees to plan and implement their wellness activities.
